amicable is the trusted legal service for separation, divorce and co-parenting. We’re on a mission to transform how people end relationships, in a kinder, better and more affordable way.

Founded by Kate Daly and Pip Wilson in 2017 after Kate’s own protracted and expensive divorce, amicable challenges the traditional adversarial legal model that pits partner against partner.

As the UK’s first dedicated ‘couples’ service, we provide an empathetic, fixed-fee approach to guide families through the legal, financial, and practical aspects of separation through our negotiation and legal services. Today, our success rate is higher than alternatives, like mediation.

By putting customers at the heart of everything we do, we’ve developed innovative technology that simplifies the often-complex journey of divorce and separation while significantly reducing costs. Our service for parents keeps families out of the court, and our co-parenting app promotes healthy relationships by reducing tension and stress. Describe a situation (in your specific area of expertise) that was particularly challenging, and how you helped the client through this difficulty?

Separating is never easy—it’s an emotional journey with legal and financial consequence. A married couple decided to separate and chose amicable to help with that process. They have savings, property and pensions, a young family, and a dog. One of our friendly Divorce Specialist’s, guided the couple through our Negotiation Service, where we managed their divorce and helped them work together to reach a balanced financial agreement, through our unique coaching model (which has over a 95% success rate). The couple were able to create effective shared parenting arrangements for their children, which they documented in a parenting plan and saved in our co-parenting app. They even worked out how to share the care of their family pet. Their financial agreements were made legally binding through a consent order prepared by our in-house legal team, who also managed the court process. The couple has managed to separate amicably in a way that prioritises their wellbeing and, more importantly, their kids. No fighting, no mud-throwing, just two adults, separating using amicable’s kinder, better and more affordable approach.
