  • Management of around 110 care homes

The challenge

Sanctuary works hard to retain its dedicated and loyal team, whose work aims to make a difference to people’s lives.

The busy Wellbeing & Reward team appointed Adroit to deliver discounted legal and bereavement services as an employee benefit to its people, filling a gap which ensures the interests of every employee – and those of their families and grandparents – are properly supported and protected during their lifetime.

As the cost of living continues to rise, the launch of Adroit’s services becomes a key part of our client’s financial wellbeing offer to its employees.

Launch of our benefits programme was planned by Adroit in partnership with the Sanctuary team to make the scheme’s integration into the business as straightforward, seamless and inclusive as possible for all staff throughout England and Scotland.

During year 1, Sanctuary colleagues benefited from combined savings on legal fees of over £44,640 through free consultations, discounted legal advice, and free and discounted Wills.

The solution

Our comprehensive legal and bereavement employee benefits package delivers accessible and affordable services for Sanctuary’s national teams. Prior to the Wellbeing & Reward team’s launch of the programme, we delivered live, virtual introductory briefing sessions for key HR personnel, senior managers and Staff Council representatives.

Following launch, live monthly webinars were delivered on a range of legal topics, attended by over 150 employees and supplying recordings and slide decks for those who couldn’t attend live sessions. 1-2-1 consultations were available to employees following each specialist webinar.

Bespoke marketing materials were also supplied to the client for upload onto their own platforms, including promotional posters and booking links for webinars.

What we did

  • Presented to HR and People leaders so they could fully understand our services and ask questions of our team
  • On-site attendance at client wellbeing events, enabling employees to build trust and confidence in our team and services
  • Introduced free mortgage advice benefit through a new panel member following a number of client requests
  • Creation of a funeral plan tender document for the Wellbeing & Reward team following introduction of new regulation, presenting options for employees
  • Created a bespoke co-branded microsite and co-branded print literature.
  • Established a direct telephone helpline
  • Supply of monthly content articles to tie in with awareness days and other events
  • Competitions to drive engagement and awareness of our services
  • Delivery of bespoke webinar programme, attended by hundreds of colleagues

Results

During year 1, Sanctuary colleagues benefited from combined savings on legal fees of over £44,640 through free consultations, discounted legal advice, and free and discounted Wills.

100% of webinar attendees have reported that their subject knowledge and awareness has improved after a webinar, and feedback has been excellent.

Sanctuary has identified additional bereavement awareness training needs within the business, which will be delivered by Adroit and our sister company, the National Bereavement Service, to every staff member to improve the support they can offer during the grief journey. This is particularly relevant to the client’s Care Team, which has day-to-day contact with carers and bereaved families.

Bereavement training for Sanctuary will equip the client’s team to better support bereaved people during sensitive conversations.

“The Adroit team has been great to work with, offering a helpful, responsive and tailored benefits package for our business needs. There are no call centres and their level of service is excellent. They offer a comprehensive package that covers all legal services to our colleagues, with the added benefit of the bereavement support service from the National Bereavement Service to support our employees at difficult times.”
